In honor of the 41st President, 4141 replicates the striking symbol of pride and strength exemplified by Air Force One. The rear panel includes elements representative of Air Force One wings and tails, including an American flag.
Union Pacific revealed the locomotive to President Bush during a 2005 ceremony near the George Bush Presidential Library and Museum on the Texas A&M University campus in College Station, Texas. Upon his death, 4141 carried President Bush to his final resting place in College Station, Texas.
On Friday, November 8th, 2019, Union Pacific officially announced it was donating the iconic engine to the George H.W. Bush Presidential Library and Museum. The George & Barbara Bush Foundation is delighted and honored to accept the generous gift from Union Pacific. It is an exciting addition and attraction at the Bush Library Center that will grow in significance for years to come.
